Music Store

MusicMaster PRO has away for you to find music you would like to purchase and use within your station. The feature allows you to search for music and then download the audio and metadata available for the song.

This built-in feature is useful to add music (audio files and meta data) to you station.

With Nexus, the work flow is typically for the song to be added to the automation system first. The song is then sent to MusicMaster PRO via Nexus and contains meta data and additional automation system information.

If the user downloaded the song to MusicMaster PRO first, it would be sent to the automation system, which in turn would send it back to MusicMaster PRO as a new song. The user would end up with two copies of the song with different meta data.  The one the user downloaded would have all the meta data from the song and no automation system data while the one from the automation system would likely have less meta data and all the automation system data. Without hand work to move the information around, neither will contain all of the information for the song.

If your automation has a work flow of getting the songs first, this can be addressed by making changes with the Music Store options.

MusicMaster PRO has two Music Store options to address this. Under Tools, Options, Additional Properties, the Music Store would have an Ingest Mode to "Update songs when filenames are added" while the Audio File Download Folder would point to the one the automation system regularly monitors for new files.

With the files sent to the download folder monitored by the automation system, we ensure that the automation system is the first to know about the new song.

The key then is to make sure the automation system interface with Nexus sends the file name back to MusicMaster PRO when adding a song. With the Ingest Mode set to "Update songs when filenames are added", when MusicMaster PRO sees the file names it will retrieve the additional meta data from the Music Store.
